Daily healthy breakfast
All framed up
Thoughts of you illuminate my spirit;
Never a flicker of flame, but with
Arching bolts which strike with a force
That disturbs my equilibrium.
My mind races as waves of passion flush over
My pale skin, causing me to gaze upon visions
Of impossible romantic possibilities.
Pathetic is this man who anticipates the
True rhythm of love, with a lady he will never hold.
My imagined discourse of thoughts leave me suffering,
As my lips quiver with the words I shall never speak
to her: "I have loved you more than anybody in this world."

Rhine River
Rhine River begins at the Rheinwaldhorn Glacier in the Swiss Alps and flows north and east approximately 820 miles (1,320 km). The glacier is located northeast across the mountains from the town of Andermatt in the Uri canton (state/province). The Rhine begins as a tumultuous Alpine stream churning through deep gorges, and although the river's flow is moderated somewhat as it passes through the Lake of Constance (Bodensee), the river remains a torrent westward to Basel.
The Basel SBB station serves the Swiss SBB rail and French SNCF rail, with German DB trains connecting to the Basel Badischer Bahnhof. Badischer Bahnhof serves the German DB rail. If you are arriving from France or Germany, you will pass through customs before entering Switzerland (which is not part of the European Union).

The city hall, being built out of red sandstone, is undoubtedly the most conspicuos building at the market place. Up to the present day, its assembly hall is used by the Great Council.
The great earthquake of 1356 destroyed the ancient city hall, which was reconstructed afterwards. However, after Basel had joined the Swiss Confederation, the city hall was completly rebuilt (1504-1514). Due to a lack of space, two towers were added on both sides in 1904 in order to enlarge the city hall. A thorough renovation about 15 years ago restored the building's original splendour.

Some facts on Basel below..
An annual Federal Swiss trade fair (Mustermesse) takes place in Kleinbasel on the right bank of the Rhine. Other important trade shows include "BaselWorld" (watches and jewelry), Art Basel, Orbit and Cultura.
The Swiss chemical industry operates largely from Basel, with Novartis, Syngenta, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Clariant, and Hoffmann-La Roche headquartered there. Pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals have become the modern focus of the city's industrial production. Some of the chemical industry's most notable creations include DDT, Araldite, Valium, Rohypnol and LSD.
UBS AG maintains central offices in Basel, giving finance a pivotal role in the local economy. The importance of banking began when the Bank for International Settlements located within the city in 1930. Basel's innovative financial industry includes institutions like the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Responsible for the Basel Accords (Basel I and Basel II) , this organization fundamentally changed Risk Management within its industry.
Basel has Switzerland's tallest building, Basler Messeturm.

Basel is Switzerland's third most populous city (165,529 inhabitants (2006); 731,000 inhabitants in the metropolitan area stretching across the immediate cantonal and national boundaries made Basel Switzerland's second-largest urban area as of 2004[3]).
Located in north-west Switzerland on the river Rhine, Basel functions as a major industrial centre for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. The city borders both Germany and France. The Basel region, culturally extending into German Baden-Württemberg and French Alsace, reflects the heritage of its three states in the modern Latin name: "Regio TriRhena". It has the oldest university of the Swiss Confederation (1460).
Basel in one of only two places on the Earth where you can cross an international border on a tram (streetcar, light rail). Tram route 10 crosses the Swiss-French border twice (it passes through French territory). So it is possible to travel to Basel by tram from the French commune of Leymen[5]. Unfortunately Leymen station is not connected to the rest of the French railway network. The international tram line is operated by BLT public transport company.
